Safety in numbers
The safety of Castle Rock’s residents is at risk if more firefighters aren’t put on the street in the coming years. As the town's exponential growth continues and the number of emergency responses skyrocket, your firefighters are working harder than ever to keep up. But without more firefighters to keep our neighbors safe, we could fall behind.
From 2016 to 2022, only six firefighters per day have been added, but far more are needed to continue to keep our residents safe as our community outgrows our current fleet of firefighters and stations. A new fire station means new firefighters and more training officers to adequately prepare our firefighters to protect you. The department needs to hire 40 plus firefighters to open a new station, a new medic unit, and move toward compliance with the National Fire Protection Association, which recommends four firefighters per fire truck. Currently, there is only a minimum of three firefighters per rig. Castle Rock’s firefighters strive to deliver excellence in public safety, but we can’t do that without more firefighters on the street. Our town has prioritized public safety because you deserve to be protected. Support us by investing in your firefighters so we can keep you safe when it’s your emergency.
