Our Association
Our association, Castle Rock Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 4116, supports your firefighters’ mission of keeping you safe through excellence in public safety. We are an organization of firefighters, for firefighters, that promotes a healthy and safe work environment for the men and women who put their lives on the line every day for their neighbors. Over a decades-long career, firefighters are subject to increased strains on their cardiovascular systems, stresses that have a cumulative impact on mental health and well-being, and physical demands that have a substantial impact on firefighters’ bodies. On top of this, cancer is the leading killer of firefighters, who are at higher risk of certain types of cancers when compared to the general population, according to the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.
Our local works to maintain ‘just’ working conditions, along with maintaining a cooperative relationship between our firefighters and town officials. We strive to make sure your firefighters receive world-class training so they can keep you safe in any situation. Firefighters risk it all to keep you safe. They do so while spending 120 days a year away from their families through 56-hour work weeks. They deserve nothing but the best, and we advocate for them to ensure a fair standard of living for those who risk it all for their communities. Our association is there to protect our firefighters so they can focus on their job: protecting you. Your safety is our purpose, and nothing will stop us from upholding that mission.
