Castle Rock Fire & Rescue Mourns the Loss of Firefighter EMT Andrew Koldeway

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Firefighter-EMT Andrew Koldeway, who left us on October 2, 2024, after a sudden and severe illness. Andrew was just 43 years old, and 21 of those years were dedicated to serving his community.

Andrew joined Castle Rock Fire & Rescue (CRFD) in February 2023, quickly becoming a cherished member of our team. His bravery, kindness, and unwavering commitment to protecting others exemplified the spirit of a true hero.

Tragically, what began as a minor medical condition escalated into a heartbreaking struggle with bacterial meningitis. After a rapid decline in health, Andrew’s family made the gut-wrenching decision to remove him from life support, surrounded by loved ones who most cherished him.

Andrew leaves behind his devoted wife, Angie, and their four young children: Harper (10), Camdyn (5), Kasen (2), Madelyn (1), as well as his mother and father, Wanda and Larry.

We will remember and honor Andrew Koldeway with a service that would welcome anyone’s attendance. Funeral services will occur on October 11, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Plum Creek Church, 960 South Interstate 25, Castle Rock, CO 80104. All are welcome to join us in honoring Andrew’s memory and celebrating his life. Livestream available HERE.

In honor of Andrew's legacy, we invite the community to contribute to a fund established to assist his family with medical bills, funeral expenses, and daily needs. Every donation, regardless of size, will make a significant impact and pay tribute to a man who dedicated his life to serving others.
