A Reminder of How Fragile Life Can Be

Castle Rock Fire Fighter and Local 4116 Vice President Chris Dudley was recently out at a local store when he ran into a familiar face. Several years ago Chris responded to a medical emergency, and this familiar face was the patient; Joyce.

Joyce had experienced a major medical event and Chris was one of the emergency responders who came to her aid. Because of the efforts of Chris and all the emergency responders, Joyce made a full recovery and is alive and well today.

“Definitely an emotional event that reminded me of how much I love my job and how fragile life can be,” said Dudley. “In our current world that seems to be full of ugly things, it was such a joy to have a moment of something really special!”

Your Castle Rock Fire Fighters are honored to help the citizens and visitors of our city each and every day. We often don’t get to hear about the long-term outcomes of situations we respond to, so we cherish the moments when we get to meet those we were able to help.
